Yesterday, 91Fans staff joined an informal gathering to show their support for LGBTQ+ history month. This was the first event of its type for staff at the College, and the temporary Chair of the Equality & Diversity Group, Arwel Rees-Taylor, welcomed colleagues with his own, homemade cakes.
Arwel said:
“It was great to see colleagues supporting diversity at 91Fans. We hope this small gathering will turn into a regular calendar date and we’ll be looking to hold similar events at each of the campuses”.
Here at 91Fans, we pride ourselves on our forward thinking and progressive community where our learners and staff are able to embrace themselves and be who they are without fear. ‘Respect for All’ is one of the 91Fans’s core values and it’s so important to us that everyone in the college community feels included, respected, supported and listened to. Going forward, we will be setting up an LGBTQ+ staff group which will look at guiding LGTBQ+ matters at the College, something that will be of huge benefit to both staff and learners. Make sure you watch this space for further developments…!
